‘Equipped to Counsel’ is the Association of Biblical Counseling’s Level 1 Certification Course.
It is a 9 month intensive certification course designed to equip followers of Christ with the ability to apply the gospel in personal and specific ways to the heart and struggles of others. The training will address both the theology and practice of gospel-centered counseling.
Who is this for?
This course is designed for Christ Followers who are seeking to love others well wherever God has placed them. This training is beneficial across a wide variety of roles, responsibilities and relationships: Formal (Licensed Professional Counselor, Lay Counselor, Pastor, Church or Para-ministry Staff), Informal (Small Group Leader, Ministry Leader, Mentor /Coach) Basically, anybody who interacts with people on a daily basis and wants to care for people well.

God is God. That means He is magnificent and powerful. He created the world. He created you. So is it really okay to be honest with Him about everything?
In this study, we are going to meet people in the Bible who felt safe being honest with God. Be warned that this isn’t going to be a pretty little Bible Study where everything is wrapped up in “God is good all the time” wrapping paper with every situation tied in a neat little bow. Even though God really is good all the time, we have to admit that sometimes life just doesn’t feel good. It is on those days when we need reassurance of His love, His goodness, and His presence so we will trust Him enough to be honest with Him.
Beginning mid-September, groups will meet in North Raleigh on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 and Wednesday mornings at 10, in Cary on Monday mornings at 10 and Monday evenings at 6:30, and Online on Tuesday evenings at 6:30.
North Raleigh and Cary:
Please join us for a 10-week study of the Book of Titus that will help you become the kind of man God intends for you to be. The Titus Ten will help you grow in your understanding of the gospel, your identity, your character, your doctrine, and more. Each chapter includes questions for reflection and discussion with other men. As you grow in these areas of your life, you’ll become the kind of man God desires to use in your family, your church, and the world.
The study begins September 15. North Raleigh groups will meet at 9500 Durant Road at 6:30 on Monday evenings. Cary’s morning group will meet at 590 Westhigh on Mondays at 9:30, and the evening group will meet on Mondays at 6:30.
The Art of Marriage Small Group by Family Life is designed to inspire and equip today’s couples: whether newly married, seasoned, empty nesters, or part of a blended family. Creatively presented as videos, spoken word poetry, animations, group discussion questions, date night challenges, his and her devotionals and so much more, the six aspects of God’s powerful and perfect love can be understood and applied immediately.
This group will be offered twice a year in Spring and Fall.
