Mentoring
Mentorship for engaged & married couples wanting to put Jesus first in their relationship.
Why Mentoring?
Marriage is a precious relationship worth doing well & worth fighting for.
Devoted City’s marriage mentors are trained to help engaged couples prepare for marriage. We also offer mentoring for married couples looking to enrich their marriage.
What to Expect
- A mentor couple will walk alongside you, helping you discover new insights & skills to strengthen your marriage.
- You can expect to have 6-8 sessions, about 60-90 minutes in length.
- You will take a pre-marital inventory and the resulting report will be used along with resources chosen with your relationship in mind.
- There is a $100 materials fee to cover all resources needed.
- We strongly encourage you to attend worship services together during this process; this is another way to invest in your marriage.

FAQs
How much does it cost?
There is a $100 materials fee. It covers all resources needed for the mentoring. Mentor couples are volunteers and do not receive compensation.
Do I need to have a mentor to be married by a Devoted City Pastor?
Devoted City Pastors strongly recommend and prefer that couples receive mentoring or professional pre-marital counseling.
How long before our wedding should we request mentoring?
You know yourselves and your schedule best. Ideally, you may wish to have completed the mentoring 2 months prior to your wedding date. For this reason, you’ll want to begin the process at least 6 months before your wedding.
We aren’t engaged yet. Is it too early?
Not necessarily. There are some couples who seek mentoring once they have decided to commit to one another in marriage.
What help is available for marriages in crisis?
Devoted City is equipped to help you connect with the right level of care based on your situation. You can use a Next Steps Card to connect with your Campus Pastor.
I’m interested in becoming a marriage mentor. What should I do?
We offer training every other year. If you have been married at least 5 years, you and your spouse can fill out this form to let us know you are interested in exploring becoming mentors at Devoted City.
